Sorry to be one of those people complaining about rejection but what is exactly wrong with the pic?

Commenting on the rejected photo which you get in your message center makes it a lot easier for us to comment on it for few reasons, so please comment there next time.

Anyways as to why we rejected the image.. As far as I can remember I voted for this but this image did not feel too good even for me for some reason.
The scenery is very nice but there is something problematic in the photo due to which I don't get the wow-effect when I look at it. Might be just personal bias (though also all of the group admins probably had the same feeling) but I was able to think few ways to maybe do differently to make it even better.

Now the foreground and background are completely in focus due to huge DOF.. This gives me nervous feeling as my eye can't focus on anything in the photo.

Secondly I think this photo would look AWESOME if it was bigger.. now it's so small that many details are lost.

Anyways as I said I voted for the photo so I didn't have too many problems with the photo.. Other admins can comment if they have any other reasons. We do try to keep the quality in this group very high and we've rejected plenty of DD's... Though sometimes slightly bad photos get accepted too. After all it's all very subjective (:

I don't understand why you declined my cheetah photo. There are some other photos here in your animal categories that are quite similar in the sense of good focus, etc.
